§ H.R. 5154
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. That the Act of July 5, 1946 (60 Stat. 427; 15 U.S.C. 1051--1127; commonly known as the Lanham Trademark Act), is amended by adding after section 39 the following new section 39a:
''SEC. 39a. No State or other jurisdiction of the United States or any political subdivision or any agency thereof may require alteration of a registered mark, or require that additional trademarks, servicemarks, trade names, or corporate names that may be associated with or incorporated into the registered mark be displayed in a manner differing from the display of such additional trademarks, servicemarks, trade names, or corporate names contemplated by the registered mark as exhibited in the certificate of registration issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.''.
