 Use of the Words "Internet" or "Intranet" in Identifications of Goods and Services 

The term "Internet" may be used in identifications of goods and services. The term must refer to the global computer information network as defined in §230(f)(1) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended (47 U.S.C. 230(f)(1)). That section defines "Internet" as ". . . the international computer network of both Federal and non-Federal interoperable packet switched data networks."

The term "Intranet" may be used in identifications of goods or services to refer to an internal or closed computer network.
