IP Library Distinguished Visitors Roll

The IP Library is one of the proud accomplishments of Pierce Law. Over a decade hundreds of distinguished visitors from around the globe have visited, researched and/or studied the collection and administration of the only academic IP Library in the United States.

This roll began at the end of 2004.

2007

  • Gabriela Paiva Hantke of Paiva & Company IP Law Firm, has a degree, Attorney at law, (magnum cum laude), University of Chile, Faculty of Law, 1980-84 Admitted to the Chilean Bar, 1987. Guest Researcher at Hiroshima University, Faculty of Law, 1990-94; Industrial Property Management Training Course, AOTS-JIII-APIC, Japan, June 2000; International Arbitration, cases, Santiago Chamber of Commerce, 1999; Advanced Mediation Training, Santiago Chamber of Commerce, May 1997. Her sponsor: U.S. Department of State International Leadership Program and The Word Affairs Council of New Hampshire.
  • Adejoke Oyewunmi - Mrs Oyewunmi is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, as well as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Commercial and Industrial Law, Faculty of Law, University of Lagos . She was formerly the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos . Between January and December 2000, she was a World Intellectual Property (WIPO) Fellow at the Franklin Pierce Law Centre, Concord , New Hampshire USA , where she obtained a Masters Degree in Intellectual Property Law (LLM IP). She also holds an Inter-Departmental Masters Degree (LLM) of the University of Lagos (1991), and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) of the Obafemi Awolowo University , Ile- Ife , Nigeria (1988). She was called to the Nigerian Bar in December 1989. In the course of her teaching and research experience, she has published papers in the areas of intellectual property, labour law and other commercial and industrial law subjects.
  • Javier Framinan Santas, Doctor of Law, University of Santiago de Compostela. Member of the Institute of Industrial Rights and Professor of Mercantile Rights of the University of Santiago de Compostela. Visitng Scholar.

2006

  • Susan Poland, J.D. has worked at Georgetown University's Kennedy Institute of Ethics off and on since 1979 as the legal research associate. She is responsible for all legal material that is relevant to bioethics to be added to the bioethics library and to databases such as PubMed. In the 1980's, Susan was fortunate enough to work in Norfolk where the first test tube baby was born.
