David Morfesi, Pierce Alum, named World Trade Organization Representative

David Morfesi, Pierce Law alums, has served as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of International Relations at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. There he advises the Executive Branch on intellectual property policy matters, serving as the technical advisor on trademarks and geographical indications for U.S. bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements. Mr. Morfesi is also delegate to U.S.-EU wine negotiations and the World Wine Trade Group (WWTG). He has also served as U.S. delegate to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Intellectual Property Experts Group (APEC-IPEG). Mr. Morfesi counsels the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) in support of World Trade Organization (WTO) matters, including the Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPs) Council, Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee, national trade policy reviews and accessions.

Mr. Morfesi has instructed at World Intellectual Property Organization's (WIPO) Worldwide Academy, as well as the U.S. Foreign Service Institute. He develops and conducts training and technical assistance for foreign intellectual property officials worldwide. Mr. Morfesi was also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Franklin Pierce Law Center, as well as Whittier Law School.
