News & Events of the NHBA IP Law Section
MINUTES OF MAY 1, 2002 MEETING OF THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY SECTION OF THE NEW HAMPSHIRE BAR ASSOCIATION
The
meeting was held at the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord
N.H. There were a large number of attendees, including the
sections officers and FPLC liaison. All present signed an
attendance sheet, which is incorporated herein by reference.
Phil called the meeting to order at 5:50PM.
Peter moved to accept the minutes of the March 20 meeting,
the motion was seconded and voted on, and the minutes were
accepted.
Phil presented the chair's report in which he mentioned N.H.
lawyers "on the move," and where they were moving to (i.e.,
which new jobs, etc.). He mentioned that PTO Trademark Commissioner
Anne H. Chasser will participate in a seminar at FPLC on October
4, 2002.
Glen made a brief report on the N.H. board of governors committee
restructuring efforts.
Peter and Tahira discussed preliminary plans to develop a
section periodical. They advised that it looks most promising
and feasible at this stage to develop a web-based rather than
a print periodical. Tahira announced that Prof. John Cavicchi
of FPLC has agreed to design and build the site, and that
FPLC will host the site. Tahira discussed how we might go
about soliciting articles, and Peter suggested that we develop
a policy concerning article selection and review. Tahira and
Peter will continue their preliminary efforts to develop the
periodical and will report back to the section at the next
meeting.
Tahira presented a brief report on the recent FPLC PCT seminar.
There was no new business, and Scott Asmus moved to adjourn.
The motion was seconded by Ashlyn Lembree, and the business
meeting ended at 6:05.
Jeffrey Stutzman of Stutzman Pierce made an excellent and
highly interesting presentation on internet security and economic
espionage, a field in which Mr. Stutzman is an expert.
The section thanks Mr. Stutzman for his presentation. We also
thank FPLC and Prof. Craig Jepson for their cordial welcome
and wonderful dinner.
Respectfully submitted,
Peter J. Gardner, secretary
